Studies

Breast MRI is used primarily as a supplemental tool to mammography or sonography during early detection exams. It can be used for screening women at high risk for breast cancer, to assess the extent of the cancer after diagnosis, or to further evaluate abnormalities seen on a mammogram.

Prostate multiparametric resonance is a study that is commonly used to evaluate the presence of prostate cancer and once diagnosed to know its extension. In the same examination, multiple indicators are evaluated, among them, the T2 sequence that allows assessing the anatomy of the prostate, the Diffusion technique that evaluates the cellularity of the lesions (the greatest accumulation of cells as occurs in tumors) and perfusion that allows to study the vascularization. The combination of all is effective in differentiating normal prostate tissue from tumor using an international reporting system known as Pi-Rads (Prostate Imaging-Reporting and Data System).
